The olive tree is a tradition in ancient Mediterranean culture. For the ancient Greeks as a sacred tree and the properties derived from fruit, leaves and wood, have a flower a wealthy transformation industry, since antiquity. The olive tree is deeply rooted in Greek mythology. The origin of Athens is related to the introduction of the olive tree from Athena in battle with Poseidon for supremacy in the protection of the city. To defuse the conflict between them, the great Zeus intervened and established to grant the domain of that territory who is able to provide the most useful gift to humanity. Poseidon took a horse, animal resistant, fast and able to lighten the work of men; Athena, however, appeared with a small twig in his hands twisted, subtle green leaves. Poseidon was already savoring the victory when Athena explained the extraordinary properties of the olive tree: a strong plant that can live long and produce tasty and delicious fruits, of which the men might draw an ideal liquid for seasoning food, give body strength, relieve the injured and also illuminate the night. The victory of the goddess was overwhelming. Zeus declared winner Athena. Athena won sovereignty over the entire region, and made an olive tree sprouting in the city with the tip of his spear.
The olive tree is not only linked to literature and mythology but also found in everyday life, as the victors in the Greek Olympic games were crowned with olive branches woven from the seventh Olympiad. Since ancient times we have used the oil produced from its fruit, the olive. The health benefits of olive oil are well known in food, herbal medicine and cosmetics, for its composition rich in oleic acid, linoleic, palmitic and stearic, minerals and vitamins A and D. The oil, besides its high nutritional value, is very healthy for the heart and liver: reduces blood pressure, cholesterol, and prevents the risk of stroke, is preventive action against constipation, diabetes and liver spasms. Salves and ointments as their action is topical anti-inflammatory and soothing effects on the skin, being indicated for burns, eczema, psoriasis and other skin diseases. Also the leaves have extraordinary properties, and have been used in herbal medicine, pharmacology and cosmetics. The leaves are antihypertensive, spasmolytic, vasodilator, antiarrhytmic, diuretic, mild antiseptic and antipyretic activity. Now Charcolive has discovered the extraordinary properties of what has traditionally been a waste not used: the olive kernel. Subjected to a controlled process at high temperatures without addition of chemical components, it becomes a powerful absorbent 100% natural, known a carbonized olive kernel charcolive®

| IMPORTANCE OF A CLEAN AIR FOR HEALTH | |
|
|
|
Breathing is vital to life. We can take days and weeks without drinking without eating, but we can only be a few minutes without breathing. While our life is an uninterrupted series of inspirations and expirations, we are rarely aware of how important it is.
Respiration sustained all vital functions and good breathing is a key to mental and physical health. Man eats about 2kg daily food and drink 2 liters, but our bodies spend no less than 5750 liters of air. We breathe an average of 16 times per minute, absorbing half liter of air. The quantity and quality of our breathing our good health depends as this activity has a powerful effect on the heart, blood circulation, brain activity, the immune system and organs, muscles and joints of our body. These data suggests the importance to the health of a breathing air quality. The Eastern cultures have always given much attention to the breath. Simply there is no life without air and without air quality there is no health. Many illness that can occur brother spent a lot of time in environments laden, contaminated. An air quality allows us to think more clearly, sleep more deeply and be more healthy. Unfortunately, the air we breathe every day is usually polluted. Not only because of the known contamination (pollution caused by traffic, heating, industry) but by "internal contamination" of the interior spaces, still little known, produced by the increasing presence of synthetic chemicals (synthetics, plastics, artificial wood, cleaning chemicals, paints) and electronic devices.

COMPOSITION OF THE AIR: negative ions.

We have all experienced feelings of blunting and lack of energy to stay long in a confined space, working with a computer, under the air conditioning, etc.. It has shown that breathing in an environment with an excess of positive iones can produce, among other problems, headaches, migraines, fatigue, irritability, anxiety, mental blunting, lack of concentration, stress, increased heart rate, reduced activity metabolic, allergy, nasal congestion, etc.. |

On the contrary, a feeling of euphoria and well being in nature, due to the role of plant chlorophyll and especially near sources of water moving (waterfalls, rivers, waves, rain) and mountain (radioactivity telluric). This is because in those enviroments there are more negative than positive ions. Negative ions REDUCE serotonin, hormone responsible for the metabolic activity associated with stress, depression and fatigue, as well as activities of the respiratory and cardiovascular system. Besides the positive ions favor the growth of microorganisms, while the negative effects are bacteriostatic, and in high doses, can prevent infections. Several studies worldwide have investigated the therapeutic benefits of negative ions. Summarizin:

THE IMPORTANCE OF SLEEP FOR HEALTH.
|
Sleep is the act of entering a state of sleep. The dream is extremely important to humans because when we sleep, several important metabolic processes in the body occur. In summary, sleep contribute to our physical and psychological health. One benefit of sleep is its contribution to the recovery of health in cases of disease, facilitating cell regeneration and contributes to good immune system. Experiments have been deprived of sleep in rats, and die within weeks by a widespread bacterial infection. So sleep plays a key role in the healthy state of our immune system. Experts claim that sleep disturbances can be significant barriers to recovery from disease. There is consistent evidence that sleep deprivation causes increased risk of diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease and obesity. Sleeping also contributes to mental and emotional wellbeing. People who manage to sleep well have a greater capacity for concentration and self-realization of personal and professional tasks. Little sleep adversely affects the ability to concentrate, learning, logical reasoning and memory of the individual. Some theories say that sleep also contributes to the growing brain to erase undesirable memories and consolidating memory. In relation to the amount of sleep needed for a proper rest, there is no consensus among experts. However, the extent of cases, the ideal is around 7 hours. 10 RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A GOOD SLEEP
THE SLEEP CYCLE The three states of consciousness: Vigil, (which is characterized by the subject's interaction with the environment) Orthodox sleep or SOL, and Paradoxical or REM sleep. Orthodox sleep is a sleep without rapid eye movement (NREM), while the paradox is this characteristic motion. In practice, these two different types of sleep differ primarily only in dreams of the paradoxical phase. Orthodox sleep is divided into three distinct phases: Phase I: is a state of transition between the sleepy and relaxed after sleep orthodox. It is characterized by slow movements of the eyes and very short, vivid dreams, where images are in color and in great detail. This is called state HIPNAGÓJICO, word comes from Greek and means "to enter the dream." This state lasts from 1 to 7 minutes and covers about 5% of total sleep time. Physiologically is an intermediate step between wakefulness and sleep, so it could be included within the waking state, that would be subdivided into two phases, phase I and wakefulness or drowsiness.
"... It is when the inner world can be bathed in the light of the highest universal consciousness. The ego of the waking consciousness vanishes. Moreover, the personal aspects of the mind are temporarily abandoned. Memories, problems, images of the restless dreams behind. All the limitations of personal unconscious are flooded by light of higher consciousness. " Swami Rama ( "Yoga and Psychotherapy" Honesdale, Pa.: Himalayan Institute, 1976)
The stage of REM sleep has been called in many different ways (fast sleep, REM sleep, sleep active phase of eye movement, archaic sleep or romboencephalic sleep, are some examples). The term paradox was proposed by Jouvet to highlight the fact that at this stage there is a great contrast between the muscular atony (relaxation) and activation of the central nervous system, (a sign of wakefulness and attention).
REM phase activates the Sympathetic System (prepares the body for acts of attack and defense, for sexual activity). The heart and breathing rate is usually irregular. It is at this stage of the dream when there is a physical blockage. The brain secretes substances that cause a certain paralysis in the sleeper. This paralysis is not complete, since they produce irregular muscle movements, and above all, which gives name to the stage, eye movements. This paralysis is necessary so that the sleeper does not harm living dreamlike hallucinations. Therefore it seems that nature has equipped us with two different types of sleep, the orthodox (DELTA) in which we recover physically from the hard reality and paradoxical (REM), where the mind rests traveling through its own reality.
